Officially Ours

Dear Avery Yu Fen,

It's official, you are our baby girl. Each day, we are getting closer to holding you, but it seems like forever away! Tonight, as I was getting your brothers and sister out the door to go trick-or-treating, my cell phone rang. The caller said, "Hi, this is Cindy." (Cindy, Cindy. . . keep talking, I will figure this out!) "Cindy from AAO . . ." (Oh, yes, our agency!) "I am about to make you very happy . . . China has approved you to adopt, and approved you for Bai Yu Fen!!" Words can not explain how overjoyed I am.

Since all or your siblings were out on the front porch, I told them the great news about you! I said I was on the phone with our agency, and they said we can officially have Avery Yu Fen for a sister. They were all so happy for you, that we forgot that we were supposed to be trick-or-treating. I know that we were all on cloud nine. You have brought a whole new meaning to Halloween for our family.

Oh, my precious Avery , you are my baby, and I can't wait to hold you in my arms. I am going to make up for all those lonely nights you have spent in your crib with no one to hold you when you were scared, comfort you when you were sick, warm you when you were cold. I promise to make up for all those times. My wish for you is that you don't have to cry yourself to sleep too many more nights.

Hold on baby, Momma is coming to get ya; I just need to pack a few more things!

Love forever in my heart,
Your forever Mommy

Great to see the letter that you wrote to Avery. Made me misty eyed. Can't wait to meet her. I know she will always know how much you and Bryan and the kids love her. Even before you (and God) picked her out.

Wow! Those are powerful words of love! Isn't it amazing how easy to love something you have never gotten to meet. Love is the greatest of all things! She truly is one lucky little girl to be surrounded by such love. She will always be blessed and safe in the arms of love. She has already taught your family so much about life.
We'll soon see you little Avery!
