It's hard to believe, but our time in China has almost come to an end. Just one quick night and then we're off to the airport early in the morning. Bags are packed, and we somehow managed to get all of our purchases in the same bags that we brought without having to buy any more luggage! Avery's passport and visa are securely packed and won't leave our sight until we land in Detroit. Avery automatically becomes a US citizen the moment she touches US soil.
Today we spent some time with our new friends to cherish every moment together before we had to say goodbye. This afternoon we went to the US Consulate office to obtain Avery's passport and visa to enter the US and took an oath that everything that we have filled out and communicated during this process is true to the best of our knowledge. It took about 30 minutes total, and we were back on our way to the hotel.
These last two weeks have created memories that we'll always remember. It's hard thinking that Avery is leaving the country she was born in, but also very exciting when we think about what's waiting for her in the US. There are 3 big brothers and a big sister that have patiently waited to finally see Avery in person, and that moment is almost here. It will be the perfect moment that will start the closure process of this entire journey.

I can't believe this incredible journey is coming to an end, and another one just beginning. We are so excited that you are finally coming home with your sweet baby girl. Tyler and Wyatt can't wait to see "Mrs. Jeanne's china baby, Avery". Wyatt was saying something to me in Chinese the other day, he says it was hello. We hope you have a safe trip home and hope to see you all soon!
WELCOME HOME AVERY!!!!!
