Today was a very good day. The pictures above reflect what Avery seems to do best...eat and sleep. She eats anything and everything put in front of her, and doesn't ever seem to quit. She slept for 12 hours straight last night as well. Avery has really taken to Jeanne and they appear to be permanently attached now. I had the opportunity to give her a handful of Cheerios, which was a huge step forward from where we were just 24 hours ago.
This afternoon we went back to the Civil Affairs office to finalize the adoption. We met with two government officials for about 2 minutes each, answered some general questions, then signed a couple of papers. We had to promise to never abandon her and we had to state that we love the baby and want to keep her. After the papers were signed, the adoption was official. Avery Yu Fen is officially a Sadler.
Before our appointment, we had the opportunity to meet with a family that adopted a little girl from the same orphanage as Avery. They sat and played for about an hour, while we had the opportunity to get to know each other. They were wonderful people, and it was great that our girls could see each other.
Tomorrow, we're heading to a police station to apply for Avery's Chinese passport. Should be another interesting day in Guangzhou.

You all look very cozy!! Looks like for now, though, she's a momma's girl! Enjoy every single minute with her!
